5 DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS!!!

I may be a sort of grinch a month before christmas, but when it starts nearing a week before christmas, I get really excited. I start to get so excited in anticipation, that every year of my life so far, I havent been able to sleep at all the night before christmas. I'm not sure why, since almost every other night of my life I fall asleep a little too easily. And, I'm 23 years old now so it shouldnt still be a problem. It must be engrained in me from all the excitement from years past. I'm curious to see if I get any sleep this christmas eve or not.

WHAtS GOING ON

I looked at the calendar today, and couldnt believe how close it is to christmas! This month has really flown by so fast. We're moving to Peoria in 3 weeks, and im not prepared to move at all. So, besides getting ready to move and getting ready for christmas, here's some random stuff going on:
LOST SEASON PREMIER

I heard on the radio yesterday that the LOST season premiere is on Jan. 31st. I'd heard rumors before now, that they might not bring the show back at all because of the writers strike. They said that they might not have enough episodes completed to air an entire season. Hopefully this season turns out ok, and hopefully they FINALLY explain whats been going on with the stinking island all along, and dont just cut the show off halfway through the season.
NECKLACE ORGANIZER
I got a earring organizer a couple weeks ago, and decided to find something to help me organize ny necklaces better. They always get really tangled together, and it makes it hard to find one to wear. This is the organizer I ended up getting:

THE GUILT BELL
I've found that shopping during the christmas season is always a guilty experience for me. I always see the SALVATION ARMY bell ringer ringing their bell for donations. I think the Salvation Army is a great organization, and think its great that they give the donations to so many needy families that really appreciate the help. BUT, I've found that I can't pass one of the bell ringers without feeling guilt. I decided there are 4 possible options when passing a bell ringer.

1.Be greedy and give nothing at all (makes me feel pretty mean and heartless)

2. Grab a couple coins from my purse before leaving the store, to give to the bell ringer.(which makes me feel guilty for not giving more.
3. Open up my wallet to grab some change as I'm leaving the store (which has a bunch of dollar bills wadded up inside, so i end up feeling REALLY guilty that Im not giving all the money in my wallet.

4. Give a larger size donation (still makes me feel guilty, because I know I need the money myself and spent too much money, and probably will need the money later)
SO, i guess no more shopping for me till after christmas. Or, no brining cash with me at all, but just my debit card when i go.

TAKE MY QUIZ

I made a quiz on facebook.com called "DO YOU KNOW ME?" Take my quiz HERE.

THINGS I LOVE ABOUT CHRISTMAS

I woke up this morning, REALLY EXCITED because it was FRIDAY!! BUTTTTT, then i realized it was REALLY only Thursday. So, here's a post about some things I love to try and change my mood....I know I'm not SUPER gung-ho about christmas, but there are definitely things I love about Christmas/Wintertime.
Here are my

TOP 10 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT CHRISTMAS/WINTERTIME

1. CHRISTMAS CAROLS
I love hearing christmas music playing in all the stores/places I go, and on the radio.(I dont love that the radio has started playing it a week before thanksgiving though) I am obsessed with music/singing, and christmas music is one of my favorite types of music. Its one thing I always look forward to every year.

2. HOT CHOCOLATE
I love sipping hot chocolate in the cold weather in cute santa mugs. I bought them for Devin last year, and its been our new tradition to drink hot chocolate from our santa mugs together.

3. SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY
4. PAID TIME OFF WORK
5. CHRISTMAS SHOPPING (love/hate)
6. CHRISTMAS BAKED GOODIES
This is one of my FAVORITE things about christmas. I really should gain 20 pounds each christmas, because every time theres any cookie/fudge/ treat around I'm the first to dig in. I love making christmas goodies for other people too.
7. THE WORLD IS MORE GIVING
I love the fact that people who need help and who are having a hard time, get extra help from the community during christmas. I used to help out with the salvation army when I was growing up, and I loved to see people who were so grateful for everything.
8. CHRISTMAS MOVIES
I admit, alot of christmas movies are sometimes pretty cheesy, but I still love watching most of them.
9. SWEATERS
10. GOING TO SEE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

TAGGED AGAIN

ALLISON tagged me, so here are 5 more random/boring facts about myself:

1.
I LOOOOOVVVVE POTATOES:

I could eat potatoes pretty much every day. Mashed potatoes, French Fries, Baked Potatoes, Potato Casseroles....all so dang tasty.

2.
IM NOT SUPER GUNG HO ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS:
I used to go shopping the day after thanksgiving every year, but the last couple years I decided it really wasnt worth the stress to get the same sales you can get on regular days where there arent a ton of people around. I tend to save my shopping till last minute. Also, since i live in a small apartment, I dont have a christmas tree. Most of you probably think by reading this that I'm anti-christmas. I really do like christmas though. Im just not super gung ho about it RIGHT NOW since I dont have any kids and dont have a cute house to decorate. I'm sure I'll be more gung ho about it in the future though. AND, I do love spending time with family on Christmas, but I usually end up getting a migraine by about 3 or 4 pm on Christmas Day. Oh, and I LOVE white elephant gift exchanges.
I DOOOO love thanksgiving though. Its my favorite holiday of the year. I LOVE all the food and spending time with family and being lazy, and having paid time off work. Its pretty awesome.

3.
IM OBSESSED WITH JEWELRY
I love love love love love love love jewelry, and I ESPECIALLY love earrings. I recently bought an awesome earring rack that helps organize my earrings and keep them from getting all tangled up. It also helps to save space and organize them better so their not such a mess in my jewelry box. I seriously love this thing:

4.
IM A LITTLE TOO LITERAL SOMETIMES
Most of the time when people tell me a joke I don't get the punchline, and have to have people explain it to me. Or, when I'm watching a movie, I have to ask a ton of questions because I dont see past the surface of whats going on. Its difficult for me to enjoy mafia or CIA movies, because theres too much going on, and I have to ask a bunch of questions the whole way to really know whats going on.

5.
I HATE PUMPING GAS

It's not the actual pumping of the gas that I hate...its more like the fact that sometimes there's a bunch of creepos pumping gas next to me, and I feel like a gas station would be an opportune place for a psycho to grab someone and kidnap them. I also hate the fact that your standing next to a busy street with a bunch of cars driving by, and all the people driving by get to stare at you too.

The rules are to now tag 5 people and have them read these rules:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2. Share 5 facts about yourself, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are TAGGED by leaving a comment on their blog.

FINALLY A REAL POST

Sorry for the sorta long hiatus. I didnt even realize how much I havent been posting, but then I looked at the date of my last posts. woops. This is what I've been up to, and some of my reasons for my blog hiatus: (Warning: this post is about 10 posts crammed into one, so its gonna be a long one)

WHAT IVE BEEN UP TO:

PLAZA RESEARCH
I participated in a focus group and was paid $100 for basically talking about my opinion for 2 hours. It was the easiest $100 I've ever made. This is the website I signed up at to participate in the focus group: www.plazaresearch.com

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE
I went to the shows tour a couple weeks ago, and it was AWESOME. We had really good seats, and were pretty much close enough to touch the dancers. My sister brought her camera, and here are some pictures from the show:
(waiting to get pictures from sis before i post them)

SOME OF THE MANY THINGS CONTRIBUTING TO MY LACK OF EXTRA TIME TO BLOG AWAY EVERY DAY....

NEW WEBSITE ADDICTION
I discovered a new website called ITSYOURTURN.COM to fulfill my game loving addiction. Its a really cool website where you can play a large assortment of games, and have a bunch of games going at the same time. You have a couple days to make each move of the game, so you can play when you have a couple spare minutes. Thats what its intended to be for at least. For me, I end up playing the games ALL DAY EVERYDAY. I'm trying to let go of that addiction, but its taking time.

BUSY AT WORK
For a while at work, I wasn't very busy, and had lots of extra time to blog every day, but lately I've had a lot of work to do consistently, and havent had as much extra time to blog away.

SHARING A CAR WITH MY HUSBAND
I used to go online before work each day, but now i get up an hour early to drive my awesome husband to work every day. He had a motorcycle for awhile which he used to drive to work, but that was totalled in an accident a couple months ago.

MY NEW WINTER SLEEP SCHEDULE
I've been going to sleep a LOT earlier lately becuase of the fact that it gets dark so early. Im narcoleptic, so at night, I pass out in one second without even knowing im falling asleep. It moves my already early bedtime from 9 oclock to sometimes 730. It makes for very short days, thus lack of extra time for blogging.

MY ONGOING TV ADDICTION

I'm still watching my shows mentioned in my earlier post, Monday through Wednesday. Now I've added a new show to my weekly schedule not mentioned before:CHUCK. I
started watching it because it came on before HEROES,and didnt particularly love it. But, NOW Im hooked. Fall is always a busy time for me because all the shows im busy watching. And on THURSDAYS I have been going on to abc.com, cbs.com, and nbc.com and browsing through all their shows online, since you can watch full episodes of lots of shows online now. Its pretty fun. It sure is a time waster though.

As for TV SHOWS....LOST IS COMING BACK SOON!!!!
I hope this isnt the last season for the show, because of the stupid stupid stupid STUPID writers guild strike. JUST PAY THEM WHAT THEY WANT AND DONT TAKE AWAY MY SHOWS PLEASE!!!!! I also heard a rumour somewhere on the internet that after the next 3 episodes of hereos, that its not coming back. PLEASE NOOOOOO!!!!!!

11.21.2007

I can't BELIEVE how long I've gone without posting. I have alot to post about, but I'm busy getting ready to leave to go to St. George for Thanksgiving. I promise to do a long post when I get back. For now, I'll leave you with some funny pictures to entertain you.......no theme this time, just random funny pictures:

P.S. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been tagged

I got tagged a couple days ago, but put off posting because I couldnt think of anything clever/interesting for this post. So, sorry in advance if this is boring. haha
DEEP DARK SECRETS
The rules are to post 6 items about yourself (habits, traits, deep dark secrets, etc.) on your blog, then tag 6 more people to do the same. So here is what I came up with:
1. I love candy/sweets. Love probably isnt a strong enough word to describe my affection for food and candy with sugar. I have a very unhealthy addiction, and I'm always trying to get my hands on more CANDY. Whenever I decide to try eating better/ more healthy, I can never seem to give up candy/sweets.
2. I don't know how to cook. (I can cook macaroni and cheese, or other simple things like that, but every time I attempt to cook anything with more than 2 steps involved, its disastrous. Thank goodness Devin is good at cooking, and is willing to help me learn how.
3. I hate driving. When I was a kid, I told my mom I wasnt gonna drive ever, and that my husband was gonna drive. Well, If I could make Devin drive me everywhere, and it wasnt a huge hassle, I would. Its not the driving part I hate, its the dealing with so much traffic part that I hate.
4. I never wake up with the alarm. I hit snooze at LEAST 3 times. Usually closer to 10 times.
5. I'm a picky eater. Ive become a little less of a picky eater since I've grown up. Here are some of the food I don't like to eat: tomatoes, asian food, seafood, barbeque sauce, beef, onions, guacamole.
6. I love buying new makeup, even when I dont need it. As shown in my recent post, I am always buying more makeup to add to my collection.
I TAG ALLISON, AMY, MELANIE, BRYNN, BECKY, CASSIE, CHRISSY, JESSICA & CHRISTINA.

Back on Schedule

I took a little hiatus from blogging, but im back in action for my monday welker wisdome:

My Weekend....

Makeup is a girl's best friend......

I ordered some makeup from E.L.F. and it came in the mail today!!! I probably didn't really need it since i have WAY too much makeup already, but i just can pass up a smoking deal. I got all of this stuff for about $15 including shipping.

The Aftermath

Another thing that came in the mail was something i won from an online blog giveaway. I saw on one of the east valley tribune blogs that they were giving away perfume, so i thought, what the heck, ill sign up, since i NEVER win anything EVER. But, today my free perfume came in the mail, and i never even was told i won. I love getting packages in the mail. Two in one day is even better.

My Cute Dog

The other day we came home to find my dogs collar, like this: He had CHEWED IT OFF!!! I don't know how he managed to do it, but it was pretty hilarious.

My Latest Project.....

I started scrapbooking 3 or 4 months ago, and made a bunch of pages....But, lately I haven't been in the mood to do a whole 12"x12" page, so I decided to try doing other creative projects. Here's my first attempt at something besides a scrapbook page:

I made this journal for my sister Cassie for her Birthday. I've seen people make albums/journals similar to this, so I thought I'd give it a try.

DREADED OCTOBER 10TH

Tomorrow is going to be a stressful day for me, and mostly for DEVIN. It could be a really good day, or a REALLY BAD day. Here's why:

Tomorrow Devin's going to court to fight his red light running ticket. He didn't get the ticket from a cop though. He got it from one of those stupid red light cameras. The one on Dobson/Southern is one of the worst ones.

There's always a long line of cars turning left onto Southern from Dobson, and you enter the intersection have plenty of time to turn, but then the person in front of you stops, while your already in the middle of the intersection and have to keep going through, and then you get flashed by the camera.

I thought this picture was quite funny, since Devin's a school bus driver right now. When you have a CDL drivers license, you can't go to defensive driving school to avoid having the ticket ding your insurance.

But, the biggest thing happening tomorrow, is finding out whether or not Devin is accepted to Nursing School yet.

He's been on a waiting list for quite a while, and they're supposed to be placing people from the waiting list into schools with room tomorrow.

The waiting list is REALLY long still though, and there are still a LOT of people ahead of him on the list, so Devin & I are both really nervous waiting to see what happens tomorrow.

P.S. my friend Chrissy created a blog, and finally has started posting, so check out her AWESOME BLOG.....

SO EMBARRASSING.

So, I was originally gonna post more random funny pictures I found online, BUT, this edition is going to be a hilarious picture that has to do with ME.

You remember the nightmare of suddenly realizing your naked at work/school? Well, today, I pretty much had that nightmare come true.

I was sitting at work, when a lady I work with came up to me and said, "Kim, do you know you have a rip in your pants?" Confused, I felt around, and realized I had a HUGE rip in the butt of my jeans, all the way along the line of the left back pocket. I was SOOOOOO horrified.
I immediately drove home and changed my pants. And I wondered how many people
saw anything before the lady at my work so nicely informed me of it.
AND, it wasn't a little rip that was easy to cover up as I walked out to my car. I could barely hold my pants seams together to cover up my butt.
Then, later, one of the managers I work with told me he saw my butt flash. The only time i walked by him was when i walked into the room where ALL the managers were meeting.
IT WAS VERY EMBARRASSING, and I'll NEVER be able to live it down the rest of the time I work the same place.

And WHYYYY am I sharing this embarrassing story with the whole blogger world? I guess I'm crazy. Or, maybe someone who reads this has had something embarrassing happen to them as well, and will think they're less of a loser now.

SO, if you HAVE had something seriously embarrassing happen to you before, PLEASE share to make me feel like less of a lower. THANKS.

WHAT IM UP TO....

WHAT I'M READING....

I read this book in elementary school/junior high(don't exactly remember), and it was one of my favorite books. I thought it would be fun to re-read it, since I know I could finish it in a couple hours, and I get REALLY DISCOURAGED reading a book thats really long because i get interrupted too often, and end up quitting the book when i'm halfway through. It was really interesting reading this book again, from an adult perspective instead of a kids perspective.

THE WEBSITE I'M SURFING....

Some of you have already heard of this makeup, and bought some, but if you havent, gone to this website before, go to Eyeslipsface.com! Almost ALL their makeup is only a dollar! And it isn't sample size either. If use the coupon code CAROLINA you will get 50% off of $15 of your order. It's a pretty smoking deal. I've seen other people's blogs about this makeup, but hadn't checked it out yet, but today i did, and there's seriously good stuff for only a dollar. Thanks Allison for posting pictures of your makeup. I had to go buy some. :) The price makes it seem almost to good to be true, but it isn't.

WHAT I'M EATING....

Devin & I discovered a great new place to eat the other day, and now I'm ADDICTED! It's not the closest place to drive for me, but i STILL find myself wanting to go there quite often. It's called QDOBA Mexican Grill. Its very similar to CHIPOTLE, only better. And for those of you who don't have Chipotle's in your area, there are quite a lot of QDOBA restaurants throughout the U.S., so there is probably one close by. So far, there are only a couple in Arizona, but I have a feeling they will be building a lot more of them soon. Find the QDOBA nearest you:

WHAT I'M WATCHING ON T.V.:
MONDAY

So far so good.
This season is starting off a little slowly, but it's still got my attention.

TUESDAY

This show is hilarious. I love watching the "beauties" and "geeks" be forced to learn things out of their comfort zone. This is another one of those shows that is like a train wreck that you cant help but keep watching.

WEDNESDAY

I love watching the new set of girls make a fool of themselves, and talk about how their going to be on the cover of vogue, when we all know none of the past season winners have gone anywhere. I also love trying to figure out who the winner will be. I haven't been able to figure out the winner yet this year. Usually I figure it out by now, but this year is a little more tricky.

SHOW I WISH I WAS WATCHING:
I always see previews for this show, and MEAN to watch it every time a new season starts, but I always forget, or another show is always on the same day/time. Last Tuesday, I was ready to watch it, and the show was about to start, when EXACTLY at 8pm, my stinking power went out! So,I guess I'm just not meant to watch it.

SHOW I'M ANXIOUS FOR THE RETURN OF:

I used to wonder what all the hype was about "LOST" and I finally broke down and rented the past seasons.I just finished watching the 3rd season of LOST online, so no I'm completely caught up for the next season to start. But, it isnt starting till I think JANUARY!!! I want it to start now, cause i REALLY want to find out what happens next.

WINTER APPROACHING....

Winter is approaching fast, and it gives me another excuse to talk about things that make me happy. a.k.a. things that I'm grateful for. It seriously makes me so happy to wake up to the beautiful weather, and puts me in a great mood every day. There are a couple things about winter that DONT make me happy like snowbirds, stores being crazy busy for 2 months straight, and the fact that it gets dark earlier (which makes me scared to drive, and makes me sleep in late and be late for work) BUTits worth it to put up with a few things i don't like, to be able to enjoy the MANY things I LOVE about winter.

10 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT WINTER

1. the wonderful temperature (not super hot, but never colder than 40 degrees usually and being able to go outside for longer than 1 minutes before melting)
2. drinking hot cocoa with marshmallows (in our SANTA mugs)
3. spending time with family I dont usually get to see, during the holidays
4. buying and wrapping presents
5. christmas music/ christmas concerts
6. christmas specials on t.v.
7. being able to wear sweaters & long sleeved t-shirts

8. paid days off at work for the holidays (3 paid holidays crammed so close together, YAY!)
9. seeing your breath outside, early in the morning

10. cozying up under a warm blanket
